ST. LOUIS -- Eugene W. "Gene" Lake, 84, of St. Louis died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, in Arizona. He was the dear husband of the late Madge Hess Lake; dear father of Sandra Lake Oliver and Brian Lake; dear stepfather of Daniel Hess; dear son of the late Francis J. Sr. and Marie A Uebel Lake; dear brother of Shirley Lake Kies and the late Francis J. Lake Jr., John F. Lake and Bernard J. Lake; dear grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend...

ST. LOUIS -- Eugene W. "Gene" Lake, 84, of St. Louis died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, in Arizona.

He was the dear husband of the late Madge Hess Lake; dear father of Sandra Lake Oliver and Brian Lake; dear stepfather of Daniel Hess; dear son of the late Francis J. Sr. and Marie A Uebel Lake; dear brother of Shirley Lake Kies and the late Francis J. Lake Jr., John F. Lake and Bernard J. Lake; dear grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend.

Gene was very proud of his military service in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and in the 3rd Marine Reserves during the Korean conflict.

A memorial visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons Funeral Home, 7027 Gravois Road, St. Louis.

Committal service will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at J.B. National Cemetery in St. Louis County.

Memorials to the charity of donor's choice are appreciated.
