MILLER CITY, Ill. -- Eugene Grace, 78, of Miller City died at 6:55 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 17, 1919, in Union County, Ill., the son of Cyrus and Della Cauble Grace.
He married Alice Pilkington on April 3, 1945.
He was a member of Lake Milligan Baptist Church. He served in the Army in World War II and was a member of the Cairo VFW, Cairo and Mounds Elks Lodge, Pulaski County Sportsmans Club and Ducks Unlimited. He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Dennis Grace of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; a daughter, Sheryl Masterson of Miller City; a brother, Wardell Grace of Cairo; a sister, Betty Jo Stevens of Belleville, Ill.; three grandchildren; and two great-granchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be today at 2 p.m. at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge with the Rev. Verlee Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens.
There was no visitation.
Crain Funeral Home of Tamms was in charge of arrangements.
