Eugene F. Golightly, 63, of New Concord, Ky., formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born July 3, 1934, in Cape Girardeau, son of G.F. and Magdaline Simpher Golightly.
He and Barbara Finley were married Oct. 3, 1953, in Chaffee. She died Jan. 2, 1981.
He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral Catholic Church and the National Guard for 16 years. He is a former member of the Cape Girardeau Jaycees and the Knights of Columbus.
For more than 40 years, Golightly worked in Cape Girardeau in the sheet metal and heating and air-conditioning business.
He is survived by a son, Steve Golightly of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Brenda Renfroe of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Carol Koehler of Cape Girardeau; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Ford & Sons Sprigg Street Chapel.
Funeral Mass will be said Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral, with Msgr. Richard Rolwing officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
