Eugene Hunter Culbertson, 74, of Fruitland died Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at his home. He was born June 9, 1933, in Cape Girardeau, son of Jesse P. and Bendia Graham Culbertson. Eugene Hunter Culbertson, 74, of Fruitland died Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at his home.

He was born June 9, 1933, in Cape Girardeau, son of Jesse P. and Bendia Graham Culbertson. He and Ann Burns were married Oct. 12, 1951, at Illmo.

Culbertson was a gas serviceman with AmerenUE. He attended Wesley United Methodist Church in Fruitland, was a past board member of Pleasant Hill Cemetery, and member of IBEW Local 702 in West Frankfort, Ill.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Mark Culbertson of Fruitland; two daughters, Jean Ann Pierce of Fruitland, Terry Simpkins of Millersville; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, a brother, three sisters and a great-grandson.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with Dr. Barry E. Winders officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Fruitland.
