EUGENE COTTON

ANNA, Ill. -- A. Eugene Cotton, 56, of Anna died Friday, March 23, 2001, at his home.

He was born in June 1944, in Murphysboro, Ill., son of Alvin and Edith Edwards Cotton. He and Kathleen A. Lohrum were married Oct. 2, 1965, in East St. Louis, Ill.

Cotton retired as a teacher, coach and counselor with Anna School District 37. He was a member of Illinois Education Association, Retired Teachers Association, and member and deacon of Anna Heights Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Keith Cotton of Anna; his parents of Harrison, Ark.; a brother, Kenny Cotton of Collinsville, Ill.; a sister, Ruth Fears of Collinsville; and three grandchildren.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna after 5 p.m. today, and after 1 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Anna Heights Church, with the Revs. Scott Harner and Kim Capel officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ill.
