Etta R. Porter, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born March 26, 1922, at Puxico, Mo., daughter of George W. and Alice E. Hill Underwood. She and W.C. Porter were married April 24, 1940, at Wickliffe, Ky. He died July 27, 2000.
Porter was a cook at St. Francis Medical Center 15 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Richard Porter of Orange, Texas; a daughter, Julia Woodfin of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
