JACKSON -- Etta E. Thompson, 88, of Jackson, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 26, 1906, at Perryville, daughter of Luscious and Augusta Cowan. She and Elmer Thompson were married in 1930 in Jonesboro, Ill. He died in May 1960.
Thompson taught 32 years at St. Louis, Randles, Tilsit, High Hill, Millersville, Marquette and Delta schools, retiring in 1970.
She was a member of Cape County Teachers Association, Cape County Association for Retarded Citizens, and attended Abundant Life Church at Gordonville.
Survivors include a son, Clarence E. Thompson of Jackson; an adopted daughter, Clary L. Thompson of Perryville; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Abundant Life Church, with the Rev. David Butler officiating. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery at Oak Ridge.
