CHARLESTON - Etta D. Michael, 77, of Charleston, died Saturday, Oct. 23, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.
She was born Nov. 7, 1915, at East Prairie, to C.J. and Bertie Skaggs Banks. She married Joseph "Bill" Michael on March 26, 1954. He preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 1984.
She was a life-long resident of Mississippi County, and a self-employed beautician for 50 years. She retired in 1985. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Charleston.
Survivors include one son, Robert A. Carlisle of Charleston; two sisters, Lucille Davidson of East Prairie and Maxine Ford of Bertrand. Two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by one brother.
Friends may call after 10 a.m., Monday, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Funeral services will held at 1 p.m., Monday, at the McMikle Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dariel Hodge officiating. Burial will be in the Dogwood Cemetery, near East Prairie.
