BELL CITY -- Ethelyne Scherffius, 63, of rural Bell City died Saturday, Nov. 12, 1994, at her home following an extended illness.
She was born Nov. 16, 1930, at Clarksville, Ark., the daughter of Riley A. and Martha Ann Berry Cooper. On Oct. 22, 1949, she married J.P. Scherffius in Piggott, Ark. He survives of the home.
She was a homemaker and member of the Garden Ridge General Baptist Church in Bell City.
Other survivors include three daughters, Karen Blurton of Sikeston, and Carol Clark and Ila Marie Reid, both of Bell City; a sister, Truley Cooper of Dexter; a foster mother Gladys White of Coaldale, Colo.; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her foster father, a brother and a foster sister.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, where funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Rickey Roberts will officiate, along with Dan Richardson and Lloyd Boley, and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
