ORAN, Mo. -- Ethel Mae Richards, 87, of Oran passed away Friday, July 7, 2017, at the family home. She was born Oct. 10, 1929, in Marshall, Arkansas, to the late Robert and Ada Thompson Lance. She married Royce Beavers on Aug. 7, 1946, and he preceded her in death May 21, 1994. She married Jack Richards on March 12, 2005, and he survives of the home...

ORAN, Mo. -- Ethel Mae Richards, 87, of Oran passed away Friday, July 7, 2017, at the family home.

She was born Oct. 10, 1929, in Marshall, Arkansas, to the late Robert and Ada Thompson Lance. She married Royce Beavers on Aug. 7, 1946, and he preceded her in death May 21, 1994. She married Jack Richards on March 12, 2005, and he survives of the home.

Ethel was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Oran.

She is survived by two sons, Daniel (Rosemary) Beavers of Oglesby, Illinois, and Michael (Marlene) Beavers of Nova Scotia, Canada; three stepdaughters, Linda Richards and Jane Richards of California and Jean Chandler of Oregon; a brother, Kenneth (Trish) Lance of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania; three sisters, Velma Beavers of Utica, Illinois, Eula Lee Zermeno and Opal (Art) Oberholtzer, both of Oglesby; 18 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 31 great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Bernice Powell; one stepson, Alan Richards; one sister, Clessie Mason; two brothers, Leonard Lance and Roy Dale Lance; and one grandson, Michael Beavers.

Friends may call after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.

Funeral service will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
