CHAFFEE -- Ethel M. Eldridge, 86, of Chaffee, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 1991, at her home. She was born Nov. 3, 1904, in Dyersburg, Tenn., daughter of Harvey and Ona McMackin Carnell. CHAFFEE -- Ethel M. Eldridge, 86, of Chaffee, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 1991, at her home.

She was born Nov. 3, 1904, in Dyersburg, Tenn., daughter of Harvey and Ona McMackin Carnell. She married John Eldridge Oct. 11, 1921. He died Nov. 2, 1989.

Eldridge was a member of the Church of God in Jackson.

Survivors include four sons, John, Arthur and Russell Eldridge of Cape Girardeau, Glen Eldridge of Chaffee; a daughter, Geneva Proffer of Chaffee; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, sister, grandson and great-granddaughter.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. Alvie Surface will officiate, with burial in Union Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
