Esther O'Daniel

ANNA, Ill.-- Esther V. O'Daniel, 90, of Anna died Sunday, March 15, 2009, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Oct. 21, 1918, in Anna, daughter of Herman and Rosa Mae Hinkle Kupfer. She and Merle K. O'Daniel were married March 25, 1936, in Murphysboro, Ill. He died in February 1992.

O'Daniel worked with her husband in the heating and air conditioning business for many years as office manager and bookkeeper, and later in O'Daniel Properties.

Survivors include a son, Leon O'Daniel of Anna; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. Dwight Kaylor officiating. Interment will be private at a later date in Anna Cemetery.
