JACKSON -- Esther Louise Godwin, 98, of Jackson, died Sunday, March 5, 1995, at Deal Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 3, 1896, at Tilsit, daughter of Charles and Minnie Bohnsack Deneke. She and Orville Godwin were married Aug. 16, 1916. He died April 14, 1941...

JACKSON -- Esther Louise Godwin, 98, of Jackson, died Sunday, March 5, 1995, at Deal Nursing Home.

She was born Dec. 3, 1896, at Tilsit, daughter of Charles and Minnie Bohnsack Deneke. She and Orville Godwin were married Aug. 16, 1916. He died April 14, 1941.

Godwin was a nurse aide at Deal Nursing Home more than 30 years. She was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church and former Member of Zion United Methodist Church at Gordonville, member of Royal Neighbors and West Jackson Homemakers Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Marjorie Baker of Midland, Texas, Maxine White of Jackson; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, five sisters, a brother and a foster brother.

Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Dr. Rodney Travis officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
