ESTHER I. REED

Esther Irene Reed, 93, Cape Girardeau Nursing Center, died there Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1993.

She was born June 12, 1899, at Jackson, daughter of Ernest and Rosa Lee Whittaker Wagner. She first married Andward Owens, who preceded her in death. She later married Aquilla Reed, who also preceded her in death.

Reed was a proofreader at the Southeast Missourian Newspaper several years.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty Dilbeck of San Jose, Calif.; a brother, Lester Wagner of Sun City, Ariz.; nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, five brothers and three sisters.

Graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fairmount Cemetery, with the Rev. Raymond Oxford officiating.

There is no visitation.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
