McCLURE, Ill. -- Esther M. "Pump Handle Annie" Fisher, 72, McClure Route 1, died Monday, Sept. 15, 1997, at her home. She was born April 2, 1925, in Dixon, daughter of George J. and Jane Elizabeth Pribe Smith. She and Hiram J. Fisher Jr. were married July 15, 1950, at Dixon...

McCLURE, Ill. -- Esther M. "Pump Handle Annie" Fisher, 72, McClure Route 1, died Monday, Sept. 15, 1997, at her home.

She was born April 2, 1925, in Dixon, daughter of George J. and Jane Elizabeth Pribe Smith. She and Hiram J. Fisher Jr. were married July 15, 1950, at Dixon.

Fisher was a dental assistant in Dixon 26 years. She moved to McClure in 1987. Fisher was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Olive Branch, and member of CB'ers many years.

Survivors include her husband; two brothers Ronald Smith of Dixon, Junior Smith of Rochelle; three sisters, Betty Fisher of McClure, Jean Wiltfang of Dixon, and Shirley DeDlich of Peru, Ill.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel in Cape Girardeau, Mo., from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Raymond McAfee officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Olive Branch.
