SCOTT CITY -- Funeral service for Esther D. Browne, formerly of Blytheville, Ark., will be held at 2 p.m. today at Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville. The Rev. Bill Williams will officiate. Entombment will be in the family mausoleum in Maple Grove Cemetery at Blytheville.
Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel at Scott City was in charge of local arrangements.
Browne, 99, died Friday, Dec. 13, 1996, at Deal Nursing Home in Jackson.
She was born May 18, 1897, in Memphis, Tenn., daughter of R.C. and Anna Newman Dent. She and Edward Jerome Browne were married in 1919. He died Oct. 27, 1947.
Browne was a lifelong member of First Methodist Church in Blytheville.
Survivors include a son, Dent Browne of Scott City; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, brother and two sisters.
