Funeral service for Esther Anita James, Cape Girardeau Route 2, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Karl Leeman will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today.
James, 88, died Monday, May 31, 1993, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Aug. 1, 1904, at Gordonville, daughter of Louis and Mary Eggimann Siemers. She and J. Franklin James were married Nov. 20, 1928, at Gordonville. He died July 13, 1963.
She and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm with their sons on Benton Hill Road. The sons still operate the business. She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church at Gordonville, and member of Campster Homemkers Club.
Survivors include five sons, John, Robert, Franklin, Donald and Earl James, all Cape Girardeau Route 2; 20 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.
