ESTER DAVIS

Ester Kathryn Davis, 94, 1014 William, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 1997, at Heartland Care and Rehab Center. She was born Jan. 28, 1903, in Union County, Ill., daughter of George W. and Mamie Rice Tucker. She and Adam Jefferson Davis were married Feb. 6, 1929, in Cape Girardeau. He died in 1968...

Ester Kathryn Davis, 94, 1014 William, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 1997, at Heartland Care and Rehab Center.

She was born Jan. 28, 1903, in Union County, Ill., daughter of George W. and Mamie Rice Tucker. She and Adam Jefferson Davis were married Feb. 6, 1929, in Cape Girardeau. He died in 1968.

Davis spent most of her life in Cape Girardeau. She did home nursing and also worked 6 years at Household Finance Co. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Genevieve Jack of Marion, Ill., and Lillian Beal of Winston, Ore.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-6 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. John Owen officiating. Burial will be in City Cemetery in Anna, Ill.
