ESTELLA M. NICKLES

ANNA, Ill. -- Estella M. Nickles, 96, of Anna, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 1994, at Abbey of Carbondale Nursing Home.

She was born April 20, 1898, daughter of Sidney and Lizzie Belle Ward Goodman. She and Christ E. Nickles were married in Pennsylvania. He died Dec. 26, 1960.

Survivors include four sons, Glenn Brown of Jonesboro, Lynn Brown of Escondido, Calif., Jess Brown of Anna, Ray Brown of St. Louis, Mo.; a daughter, Christina Nickles of Anna; two stepsons, William Nickles of Diamond, Ohio, Ellis Nickles of Sharon, Pa.; four brothers, Earl Goodman of McClure, George Goodman of Belle, Mo., Leroy Goodman of Highland, Daniel Goodman of Cahokia; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a daughter.

Friends may call at Norris and Son Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 5-8 p.m. today.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Jonesboro Cemetery, with the Rev. Tom Miller officiating.
