CAIRO, Ill. -- Estella Howard "Sug" Johnson, 76, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, at her home.
She was born June 7, 1926, in Miller City, Ill., daughter of Dock and Ludie Randle Howard. She and Jake Johnson Sr. were married, and he preceded her in death.
She was employed at Burkhart's in Cairo and attended Cairo schools.
She was a member of the Holy City Church of God in Christ, where she served on the mother's board, the usher's board, the memorial committee and on the pastor's aide society.
Survivors include two sons, Jake Johnson Jr. and Michael Johnson, both of Cairo; two brothers, Frank Howard of Lansing, Mich., and Sylvester Choate of Cairo; two sisters, Ola May Powell and Richardine Ervin, both of Cairo; three stepsons, Paul, Maurice and Connie Johnson; twelve grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Holy City Church of God in Christ in Cairo. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. Dr. Grady G. Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in the Spencer Heights Memorial Park Cemetery in Mounds, Ill.
