ESTELLA GERTRUDE SMITH

ANNA, Ill. -- Estella Gertrude Smith, 89, of Anna, Ill., died Saturday, May 24, 1997, at the City Care Center.

She was born April 28, 1908, in Gallatin County, Ill., daughter of Charles and Mary Alice Davis Wallace. She married Louis Smith on Oct. 6, 1928 in Harrisburg, Ill., and he preceded her in death on Sept. 11, 1970.

She is survived by four sons, Wendell Smith of Port Arkansas, Texas, Kenneth Smith of Anna, Billy Smith of Goreville, Ill., and Richard Smith of Talladega, Ala.; two daughters, Eula Sheffer of Anna and Mary Ream of Brainerd, Minn.; two brothers, Harry Wallace of Eldorado, Ill., and Monroe Wallace of Equality, Ill.; 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, two brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Lutz & Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Myron Dillow officiating. Burial will be in West Eden cemetery at Cypress.
