Estel L. Bess, 80, of Cape Girardeau, died Wednesday, March 23, 1994, at the Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born near Lutesville Feb. 7, 1914, son of Peter L. and Etta E. Perkins Bess.
Bess was a retired diesel mechanic for Weithop Truck Sales in Cape Girardeau. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the Lutesville General Baptist Church.
Survivors are a son, Mitchell Bess, Springfield, Mo.; daughters, Susan Teets, Jackson, and Cynthia Gerler, Gordonville; and five grandchildren.
Four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 tonight at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
Service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Fred Ritter officiating. A Veterans of Foreign Wars military grave-side service will be conducted by Post 5900 of Marble Hill.
Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemtery.
