STURDIVANT, Mo. -- Essie Jane Poe, 92, of Sturdivant died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, at Three Rivers Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
She was born Nov. 25, 1913, in Tiptonville, Tenn., daughter of Thomas Filmore and Mary Bridget Gill Davidson. She and Gordon Poe were married Jan. 27, 1933, in Clarkton, Mo. He died in 1960.
Poe was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Samuel Poe of Advance, Mo.; two daughters, Mary Taylor of Greenville, Mo., Sarah Perry of Elgin, Ill.; a brother, Paul Davidson of Carpentersville, Ill.; three sisters, Ruby Coker of Denver, N.C., Opal Goodson of Aurora, Colo., Grace Miller of Elgin, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, two sisters and a brother.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Earl Elfrink and John Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Rock Point Cemetery near Advance.
