WYATT -- Essie Mae Wilke, 83, of Florissant, formerly of Wyatt, died Tuesday, March 10, 1992, at Christian Northeast Hospital in Florissant. She was born July 20, 1908, at Jonesboro, Ill., daughter of James A. and Mary Smithey Knupp. She married Albert Wilke Aug. 13, 1953. He died Jan. 24, 1975...

WYATT -- Essie Mae Wilke, 83, of Florissant, formerly of Wyatt, died Tuesday, March 10, 1992, at Christian Northeast Hospital in Florissant.

She was born July 20, 1908, at Jonesboro, Ill., daughter of James A. and Mary Smithey Knupp. She married Albert Wilke Aug. 13, 1953. He died Jan. 24, 1975.

Wilke was a member of Wyatt United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Louise Gunter of Florissant; a brother, Curtis Knupp of East Prairie; two grandsons and a great-granddaughter.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at McMikle Funeral Chapel in Charleston. The Rev. Robert Burke will officiate, with burial in IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Friday.
