HAYWOOD CITY, Mo. -- Essie Mae Grayson, 85, of Haywood City died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo. She was born Dec. 15, 1915, in Canton, Miss., daughter of John and Elvira Harris. She and Isiah "Man" Grayson were married Dec. 15, 1934, in Bloomfield, Mo. He died March 3, 1999...

HAYWOOD CITY, Mo. -- Essie Mae Grayson, 85, of Haywood City died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.

She was born Dec. 15, 1915, in Canton, Miss., daughter of John and Elvira Harris. She and Isiah "Man" Grayson were married Dec. 15, 1934, in Bloomfield, Mo. He died March 3, 1999.

Grayson was a member of Christ Sanctuary Church of God in Christ at Bell City, Mo.

Survivors include a daughter, Lena Raby of Haywood City; a foster son, Jerry "Mississippi" Spencer of the home; eight grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Christ Sanctuary Church. The Rev. Alex Sims and Elder David Pullen will officiate. Burial will be in J.C. Pullen Memorial Cemetery at Bell City.

Friends may call at the church Friday from noon until time of service.

Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
