ESLIE JONES

CAIRO, Ill. -- Eslie Jones, 72, of Cairo, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 1991, at Daystar Care Center.

Jones was retired from the U.S. National Cemetery in Mound City. He was a member of Cairo Masonic Lodge 237, Cairo VFW Post 2648, and Cairo Elks Lodge 651. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Threda; a daughter, Sue Hunsinger of Galatia; three sons, Duke Jones of Cairo, Rodney Jones of St. Louis, Mo., Mickey Jones of Ottawa; a sister, Elise Stanfill of Obion, Tenn.; a half sister, Gertrude Paul of Hawthorne, Fla.; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Barkett Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jerome Fortenberry will officiate. Burial will be in Barlow Cemetery in Barlow, Ky., with military rites.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. today.
