LILBOURN, Mo. -- Raymond Erwin Lloyd, 88, passed away Monday, Sept. 14, 2020, at New Madrid Living Center in New Madrid, Missouri. He was born Aug. 5, 1932, in Lilbourn, the son of the late Raymond and Bessie Taylor Lloyd. He was a member of New Life Assembly in New Madrid and had worked as owner-editor for SEMO News in Lilbourn and the Portageville Review in Portageville, Missouri. ...

LILBOURN, Mo. -- Raymond Erwin Lloyd, 88, passed away Monday, Sept. 14, 2020, at New Madrid Living Center in New Madrid, Missouri.

He was born Aug. 5, 1932, in Lilbourn, the son of the late Raymond and Bessie Taylor Lloyd.

He was a member of New Life Assembly in New Madrid and had worked as owner-editor for SEMO News in Lilbourn and the Portageville Review in Portageville, Missouri. He combined these two newspapers into the Portageville Missourian News in the 1990s and continued to work there until 2002.

On June 20, 1986, he was married to Jean Beavers Lloyd. She survives of the home in Lilbourn.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, David Lloyd of Cape Girardeau and Derek Lloyd of San Francisco; and one grandchild.

There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mounds Park Cemetery in Lilbourn.

Ponder Funeral Home of Sikeston, Missouri, is in charge of arrangements.
