ALTENBURG -- Erwin Joseph Holt, 81, of Altenburg, died Feb. 11, 1996, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born Nov. 27, 1914, in Cape Girardeau County, son of Joseph and Louise Schneider Holt. He and Alma Irene Brown were married May 29, 1938. He died Feb. 20, 1991...

ALTENBURG -- Erwin Joseph Holt, 81, of Altenburg, died Feb. 11, 1996, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Nov. 27, 1914, in Cape Girardeau County, son of Joseph and Louise Schneider Holt. He and Alma Irene Brown were married May 29, 1938. He died Feb. 20, 1991.

Holt retired from Perry Crating. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a son, Harvey Holt of Altenburg; a daughter, Marian Jacobs of California; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday and on Thursday from 6:30-8:30 a.m.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Church, with the Rev. Willard Kassulke officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
