CHAFFEE -- Ervin Herman Knotts, 77, of Chaffee, died Sunday, March 20, 1994, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 24, 1916, at Pocahontas, Ark., son of James Burton and Ollie Pickrell Knotts.

He married Gean Abraham, Aug. 22, 1945.

Knotts was a retired farmer.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.

Knotts was a member of the Church of God in Chaffee and the Cape Girardeau County Disabled American Veterans organization.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Gary Knotts and Ricky Knotts, both of Chaffee, Ronald Knotts of the state of Oklahoma, Roger Knotts of Oran; two daughters, Carolyn Stidham of Jackson, Bonnie Shelton of Chaffee; a brother, Doc Knotts of Campbell, Mo.; a sister, Sylvia White of Chaffee; 18 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of God in Chaffee, with the Rev. Eldon Dale McKenzie officiating.

Burial will follow in Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
