CHARLESTON -- Ernie Lee Vines, 49, of Charleston died Friday, June 12, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Dec. 21, 1948, at Darling, Miss., son of Walter and Eliza Nolen Vines.
He was employed by the Thurmond Farms in Charleston. He had lived in Mississippi County most of his life. He was an Army veteran.
Survivors include a son, Ernie Lee Vines Jr. of Dixon; a daughter, Lee Ann Vines of Dixon; three brothers, Walter Vines Jr. of Wyatt, Perry Vines of Avon Park, Fla., and Leon Vines of Wolf Island; and five sisters, Alvertis Donnely of Arvandale, Fla., Albirdie Ritch, Nancy Hiel and Eva Lawson, all of East Prairie, and Ethel Wimberly of West Moreland, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by two sons and a brother.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
Funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. in the Shelby Chapel.
Brother Richard Farquhar will officiate. Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
