ERNEST TWEEDY

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Ernest Tweedy, 95, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 1996, at Hillview Nursing Home in Vienna.

He was born Nov. 25, 1901, in Union County, son of Charles Edgar and Mitilda Boyer Tweedy. He and Jewell Howe were married July 4, 1921, in Jonesboro.

Tweedy farmed in Union County most of his life, and was a member of Jonesboro United Methodist Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Helena Dorsey of Goreville, Ava Ray of Anna, Faith Harris of Noble, Charity Swink of East Carondelet; a son, Steve Tweedy of Tallahassee, Fla.; and a sister, Gladys Lynn of Gallatin, Mo.

He was preceded in death by a grandson and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Sullins officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
