SIKESTON -- Ernest Roy Riley, 77, of Georgiana, Ala., died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999, at Georgiana Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 10, 1922, at Blodgett, son of Rolley R. and Annie Laura O'Ham Riley. He and Evelyn Jeannine Cole were married Oct. 20, 1956. She died Feb. 4, 1996.
Riley had been employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Sikeston. He attended Miner Baptist Church.
He served with the U.S. Air Force during World War II and in the Korean War.
Survivors include five sons, Ernest "Sonny" Riley Jr., Tommy and Jerry Riley, all of Sikeston, Tim Riley of Montgomery, Ala., David "Drew" Riley of Columbia; and a foster son, George Ruiz of Houston, Texas.
Also surviving are three brothers, Dean, Richard and Dale Riley of Blodgett; two sisters, Ruby Hurst and Earline Foster of Blodgett; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Friday.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
