Ernest J. Noel, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 19, 1922, at Dyersburg, Tenn., son of Flaice Eligi and Jewell J. Coafaes Noel.
He and Mabel Bingham were married July 19, 1940, at Caruthersville, Mo.
He worked as a truck driver for Commercial Transport for 40 years before retiring in 1977.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Larry Noel of Cape Girardeau, James Noel of Jackson, Mo., Roger Noel of Scott City, Mo., and McArthur Noel of Miami, Fla.; two daughters, Betty Busher and Ernestine Swader, both of Cape Girardeau; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, a brother and a grandchild.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Richard Krueger officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
