Ernest Mayberry, 80, of Jackson died Tuesday, June 29, 2004, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home.
He was born Nov. 29, 1923, at Essex, Mo., son of Jessie and Mimi Tramel Mayberry. He and Helen Bowers were married Jan. 27, 1941, in St. Charles, Mo.
Mayberry worked in construction many years.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, Ronald Mayberry of Shawneetown, Donald Mayberry of Jackson, Jimmy Mayberry of Glenallen, Mo., Leroy Mayberry of Biloxi, Miss., Steve Mayberry of Rossville, Kan.; four daughters, Janet Woods of Scott City, Debra Mayberry of Long Beach, Miss., Peggy Hendricks of Oklahoma, Rose Mary Klipfel of Topeka, Kan.; a sister, Rosa Cozzi of Battle Creek, Mich.; 22 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter and six brothers.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Eddie Long officiating. Burial will be in Caney Fork Cemetery near Millersville.
