CENTERTOWN -- Ernest Anton Brendel, 64, of Centertown died Friday, April 19, 1996, at Capital Regional Medical Center in Jefferson City.
He was born Nov. 1, 1931, in Vienna to Henry and Agnes Bauer Brendel.
He married Margaret Ann Rustemeyer on Oct. 20, 1956, in St. Martins. She survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Janet Hirschman of Bloomington, Ind., Sharon Distler of Jefferson City and Karen Brondel of St. Martins; three sons, Larry Brendel of Jefferson City, Tony Brendel of Scott City and Patrick Brendel of Centertown; four sisters, Regina Rothove of Jefferson City, Rose Strano of Trenton, N.J., Ida Lynn of Laurel, Md., and Emma Rackers of Taos; two brothers, Herman and Ted Brendel, both of Westphalia; and eight grandchildren.
Brendel was a foreman and installer with Distler Irrigation Systems Inc. in Jefferson City and also was employed in the construction industry and as a self-employed floor-covering installer.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Brendel was a member of the St. Martin Catholic Church, Wyman S. Basinger Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 35 and a former Fourth-Degree member of the Knights of Columbus 7194 in St. Martins.
Friends may call at Dulle Funeral Home in Jefferson City today from 2-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 4.
Funeral service will be at St. Martin Catholic Church Monday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Edwin Schmidt officiating.
