Erna N. Schattauer, 87, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Pocahontas, passed away Saturday, Feb 20, 2016, at The Lutheran Home. She was born Jan 16, 1929, daughter of Martin and Meta Bingenheimer Meyr.

She and Lloyd Schattauer were married April 14, 1950. He died May 27, 2008.

Erna was a member of Hanover Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, where she was a member of the morning prayer group. She co-owned and operated Lloyd's Grocery in Pocahontas, where she assisted her husband with the U.S. Postal Service. She worked many years for Bud and Becky Huck at their clinic. Erna loved and adored her family.

Loving survivors include her daughter, Sandra (John) Mercille of Fenton, Missouri; son, Keith Schattauer of Fruitland, Missouri; two granddaughters, Christine (Jason) Brown of Eureka, Missouri, and Cara (Chris) Guy of Maryville, Illinois; two great-grandchildren, Cooper and Riley Brown; and a sister, Judy (Bud) Burford of Burfordville, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lloyd; two sisters; and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., with the Rev Tony Kobak officiating. Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hanover Lutheran Church, St John's Lutheran Church in Pocahontas or The Lutheran Home.
