NEW WELLS, Mo. -- Erna Marie Rubel, 87, of New Wells, passed away Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, at the Monticello House in Jackson.
Mrs. Rubel was born Jan. 13, 1916, at Farrar, Mo., the daughter of Max and Gertrude Mue-nch Fritsche. She and Odis August Rubel were married May 11, 1941, at Farrar. He passed away July 1966.
Loving survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Odis Rubel, Jr., and his wife Charlotte of Jackson; a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce Versemann and husband Ron of New Wells; one sister, Norma Clifton of Menfro, Mo.; five grandchildren, Penny Rajhansa, Dawn Salyer, Jeffrey Versemann, Jodi Seabaugh, and Jim Versemann; and six great grandchildren, Arun Rajhansa, Shea and Payton Salyer, Dillon and Morgan Versemann and Dalton Seabaugh.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Rubel was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church at New Wells. She worked as a seamstress at Courtesy Cleaners and later at Patrick's Cleaners, both in Cape Girardeau. Mrs. Rubel also enjoyed quilting.
Friends may call Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, between 4-8 p.m. at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson and after 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells.
Funeral service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Church in New Wells, with the Rev. Walter Patzwitz officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Lutheran School Fund at Immanuel Lutheran Church at New Wells.
