CHARLESTON -- Erma M. Brewer, 88, formerly of Charleston, died Wednesday, March 26, 1997, at Bertrand Nursing Facility.
She was born June 29, 1908, in Lobelville, Tenn., daughter of Marquis DeLafayette and Mary Elizabeth Gunter Cagle Sr. She and Harry Truman Brewer were married Sept. 11, 1927. He died March 28, 1982.
Brewer was a member of First Baptist Church. She was active in the Charleston Recreation Association and Little League sports programs more than 20 years.
Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy Gunter and Betty True of Sikeston, Katherine Denning of Jackson; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and four great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gerald Collier officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
