Erick A. Faile, 21, of Bethalto, Ill., was received into the arms of God on Monday, May 23, 2011. He died of injuries sustained in an automobile accident May 19, 2011, near Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 29, 1989.
He is the beloved son of Kari Faile; dearest grandson of Sallee McDuffee; dear nephew of Dawniele and Michael Pasha; dear stepson of Christopher Marshall; and beloved fiance of Chelsea Hernandez.
Erick graduated from Belleville East High School in 2007.
"Our dear sweet boy, Erick, you were loving and kind to all who knew you, a true, loyal friend and a devoted son. You will be remembered for your lively sense of humor, friendly, gentle manner and your beautiful blue eyes. You were so compassionate, always willing and striving to help others. Even in death, your selfless act of being an organ donor will touch many more lives. We will always remember your love of cars, gadgets, music, animals, cooking and the outdoors. We thank God for the 21 years of happiness and joy you blessed us with. You will be forever young, loved and remembered."
A memorial for Erick will be held this summer to celebrate his life.
Schnur Funeral Home in St. Louis was in charge of arrangements.
