COBDEN, Ill. -- Funeral service for Eric L. Yancey of Cobden will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna. The Revs. Clifford Heil and Nyle Forby will officiate. Burial will be in Cobden Cemetery, with military rites by Illinois National Guard.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.

Yancey, 22, died in a trailer truck accident Monday, Aug. 19, 1996, in Randolph County.

He was born Dec. 14, 1973, in Carbondale, son of Vern and Lana Kaye Williams Yancey. He and Brandy Reed were married July 15, 1995, in Carbondale.

Yancey was a truck driver with Pine Ridge Trucking Co. in Jonesboro. He was a member of Water Valley Christian Church, and served with the Illinois National Guard.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Brooklyn Yancey of Cobden; father and stepmother, Vern and Phyllis Yancey of Cobden; mother and stepfather, Lana and Roger Glasco of Anna; three sisters, Tara Brokovich of Carbondale, Nancy Heil of Springfield, Charlene Horton of Anna; two brothers, Michael Westbrook of Murphysboro and Tim Glasco of Anna.

Also surviving are paternal grandparents, Clel and Judy Yancey of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; maternal grandmother, Mavis Cook of Leslie, Mo.; maternal grandfather, Al Williams of Cobden; maternal stepgrandmother, Yvonne Williams of Jonesboro; maternal great-grandmothers, Mamie Waldron of Anna and Cledus Williams of Cobden.
