Emory J. "Cotton" Tetley, 87, of Sikeston, died Monday June 21, 1999, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Tetley was born Dec. 12, 1911, in Lander's Ridge to the late Joe and Mary Tetley. He and Mary Lucille Sumler were married Sept. 25, 1937. She died Feb. 28, 1993.
He was an employee at John Fabick Tractor for 37 years before retiring. Tetley attended the Tanner Street Church of God, and he was a member of the Southeast Missouri Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame.
Survivors include three sons, Larry Tetley of Sikeston, Harold Tetley of Florissant and Charles Tetley of Murfreesboro, Tenn; a brother, Bill Tetley of Iberia; three sisters, Evelyn Fletes of St. Louis, Bonnie Pigman of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Kay Cathey of Ozark; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. George Hill officiating. The burial will follow at the Garden Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
