SIKESTON -- Emory O. Martin, 88, of Sikeston died Saturday, April 6, 1996, at the Miner Nursing Center. He was born July 30, 1907, in Bloomfield to William and Edith Moore Martin. He married Lillian Babb on July 25, 1927, at Bloomfield. She died June 17, 1991...

SIKESTON -- Emory O. Martin, 88, of Sikeston died Saturday, April 6, 1996, at the Miner Nursing Center.

He was born July 30, 1907, in Bloomfield to William and Edith Moore Martin.

He married Lillian Babb on July 25, 1927, at Bloomfield. She died June 17, 1991.

Survivors include a son, James Martin of Sikeston; two daughters, Alma Vern "Mickey" Thompson and Floretta Jean Parks, both of Sikeston; two sisters, Eva Eskew of Dexter and Wanda Ross of Detroit; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A sister preceded him in death.

He was a member of Beulahland Fellowship General Baptist Church near Sikeston and a former member of the Masonic Lodge.

He had worked for the state mental hospital in Nashville, Tenn., as a licensed practical nurse before his retirement.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston Monday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Funeral service will be at the funeral chapel Monday at 2 p.m., with the Revs. James Martin and Troy Boshears officiating.

Burial will be in Bluff Cemetery near Idalia.
