CHAFFEE -- Emogene Fuge, 88, of Chaffee died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 1996, at Chaffee Nursing Center.
She was born Aug. 21, 1908, at Hartville, daughter of Thomas and Verna Wynne Jones. She and I.W. "Buster" Fuge were married March 31, 1929. He died March 29, 1981.
Fuge taught school at Hartville and in Mangum, Okla. The Fuges owned and operated Fuge Grocery Store in Hartville from 1935-73.
She was a member of Retired Missouri State Teachers Association; Wright County Retired Teachers Association; 20th Century Club, Florence Rebekah Lodge and Hartville Garden Club, all in Hartville; Daughters of American Revolution in Springfield; Delta Kappa Gamma in Mountain Grove; Order of Eastern Star at Morley; and Wright County Historical Society.
Survivors include a daughter, Jean Whitaker of Chaffee; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Holman Funeral Home in Hartville from 7-8:30 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bob Wakefield officiating. Burial will be in Steele Memorial Cemetery at Hartville.
Amick-Burnett Funeral Home at Chaffee was in charge of local arrangements.
