PERRYVILLE -- Emma J. Wichern, 100, of Perryville died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, at Perry County Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 2, 1897, at Altenburg, daughter of Gottfriend and Anna Kuehnert Noennig. She married John H. Wichern on May 27, 1923. He died May 11, 1971...

PERRYVILLE -- Emma J. Wichern, 100, of Perryville died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, at Perry County Nursing Home.

She was born Sept. 2, 1897, at Altenburg, daughter of Gottfriend and Anna Kuehnert Noennig.

She married John H. Wichern on May 27, 1923. He died May 11, 1971.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Jane Mattes of Kelso and Velma Davis of Perryville; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and four step-great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, five brothers and four sisters.

She was a homemaker and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.

Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 6 until service time at 10 a.m. Monday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. The Rev. Craig Otto will officiate, with burial in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
