ORAN -- Funeral service for Mrs. Emma Pirtle of Oran Route 2 will be held at 2 p.m. today at Perkins Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Edwin Francis will officiate, with burial in Williams Cemetery at Perkins.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee from 8-11 a.m. today, and then at the church from 12:30 p.m. until time of service.
Mrs. Pirtle, 63 years old, died Tuesday, April 9, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born March 4, 1928, at Mesler, daughter of Chester and Zettie Welch Edwards. She married Loomis Pirtle June 1, 1944.
Mrs. Pirtle was a retired sewing machine operator at Florsheim Shoe Co. She was a member of Perkins Missionary Baptist Church and Perkins Needle Club.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Jerry Pirtle of Randles; four daughters, Ruth Standley of Perkins, Brenda Cannon of Rockview, Rose Wolfert of Palm Coast, Fla., Jeanette Eftink of Chaffee; a brother, John Edwards of Perkins; three sisters, Elsie Bloomer of Six Lakes, Mich., Mary Burton of Morley, Helen Backus of St. Louis; 17 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son.
