MINER, Mo. -- Funeral for Emma Jane Lowe Jones of Miner will be held at 11 a.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, Mo. Johnny Hester and Pat Hogan will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
Jones, 89, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at her home.
She was born Oct. 6, 1910, in Formosa, Ark., daughter of Leonard and Eva Mae Merryman Shipley. She first married Willie Joseph Lowe Feb. 12, 1927, in Clinton, Ark. He died Jan. 8, 1983. She later married A.G. "Grant" Jones Jan. 3, 1990, at Morehouse, Mo. He died March 1, 1993.
Jones had been a private duty nurse and a Pink Lady at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She was a member of Shady Acres Church of Christ in Sikeston.
Survivors include three sons, Eddie Lowe of Sikeston, Bill Lowe of Lexington, Tenn., Larry Lowe of Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Herschel Shipley of San Antonio, Texas; three sisters, Nona Hubbard and Cathryn Lowrey of Boron, Calif., Lorene Brown of Clarkton, Mo.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a stepgranddaughter; and six great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and three sisters.
