CHAFFEE -- Emma Erwin, 92, of Chaffee, died Sunday, July 28, 1991, at Chaffee Nursing Center.
She was born Dec. 17, 1898, at East Prairie, daughter of Conover and Emma Swan Ryker. She married Fred Slayden May 7, 1919, who died March 27, 1952. She then married Turney Erwin Jan. 10, 1961, who died Aug. 5, 1969.
Erwin moved here in 1981 from Cape Girardeau. She was a member of First Baptist Church here, and St. Mark 167 Order of Eastern Star in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include a son, James Slayden of Chaffee; a stepson, Elmer Erwin of Houston, Texas; a stepdaughter, Sarah Gleckler of Austin, Texas; five stepgrandchildren, and a great-stepgrandchild.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church here. The Rev. Charlie Shrum will officiate, assisted by the Rev. W.R. Harrell. Burial will be in Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home here after 5 p.m. today. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7:30.
