MOUNDS, Ill. -- Emma E. Dixon, 64, of Mounds died Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999, at Daystar Care Center in Cairo.
She was born June 20, 1935, at Karnak, daughter of Lonzo and Katie Sowers Bough.
She was married to Gene Dixon.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mounds, the Friendly Daughters Sunday School Class and the Mounds Women's Club. She worked for Illinois Department of Public Aid 31 years before retiring two years ago.
She is also survived by her husband; her mother; a son, Dr. Dewey Dixon of Mounds; two daughters, Jeanie Currey of Villa Ridge and Paula Britton of Olmsted; three brothers, Bennie Bough of Fairfax, Va., Lonzo Bough Jr., of Southgate, Calif., and Charles Bough of Victorville, Calif.; and six grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her father and a brother.
Service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Mounds, with the Rev. F.M. Speakman officiating. Interment will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
Barkett Funeral home of Mounds is in charge of arrangements.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Mounds.
