MALDEN -- Emma Elvira Blades, 96, of Malden died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, at Ridgeview Nursing Center. She was born Oct. 31, 1902, at Hiram, daughter of Marshall and Sarah Catherine Shiverdecker Eaker. She and Rueben Mark Blades were married Dec. 16, 1928, in Piggott, Ark. He died Dec. 11, 1978...

MALDEN -- Emma Elvira Blades, 96, of Malden died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, at Ridgeview Nursing Center.

She was born Oct. 31, 1902, at Hiram, daughter of Marshall and Sarah Catherine Shiverdecker Eaker. She and Rueben Mark Blades were married Dec. 16, 1928, in Piggott, Ark. He died Dec. 11, 1978.

Blades was a member of First General Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, James "Bob" Blades of Malden, Alvin Blades of Oran; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Friends may call at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden from 6-9 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Scott Keller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden.
