SIKESTON, Mo. -- Emily S. Hale, 86, of Sikeston died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at Clearview Nursing Center.
She was born March 19, 1917, at Kennett, Mo., daughter of Irvin D. and Lula Hutchens Smith. She and George Loy Hale Jr. were married Jan. 21, 1940, in Bruceton, Tenn. He died May 31, 1989.
The Hales owned and operated Hale's Jewelry Store 50 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a Cub Scout leader many years, and had been involved with several phases of art.
Survivors include two sons, Jim Hale of Evansville, Ind., George Hale III of Sikeston; three granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at First United Methodist Church after 10:30 a.m. today.
The funeral will be at the church at noon today, with the Rev. Sandra Schaller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
